Party Planning...

Well, the Dennison household is in full on party planning mode right now. Between Chase's big 1st birthday bash fast approaching in a couple of weeks & Audrey's 3rd birthday party a month after (which seems far away but I need to get her invites out soon!) I have tons to do. But you know I love this stuff... Chase is getting a truck theme, but in my color choice (pictures to come) and I think I am doing a garden party theme for Audrey with all of the girls in the neighborhood. This is the first year Audrey really gets her birthday and is ridiculously excited about it. She is not happy that Chase's birthday is before hers and hence his party is before hers but she is trying to get over it. She wakes up every day and wishes Chase happy birthday, I think that is her way of saying "is it here already and time for mine??". She has been asking to make Chase a cake, so we made cupcakes this weekend (a rarity in our house I know). The whole family got to enjoy, here are the pictures to prove it...

eleven months...

So my baby boy turned eleven months yesterday, ah! Which means he is only one month away from turning one, how quickly a year goes by... And yes, the invites are 1/2 out for his birthday bash:)

Chase is everywhere and proving daily that he is a boy boy. He loves trucks (hint hint birthday theme) and anything with wheels on it, much to Charlie's delight. He also loves the sandbox and will sits there for a good amount of time before he wanders away. His new obsession is anything with a long handle, the broom and most recently rakes & shovels outside. It is probably not the safest thing to have him playing with but he gets mad if you don't let him so oh well... Audrey and him are finally playing together which is SO exciting. We were sitting at dinner the other night talking and I looked and Charlie and said "are they playing" and he said "yeah", like we couldn't hear a peep out of them, they were on the floor entertaining themselves... I've been waiting a long time for that I have to say... He isn't walking but he did take his first steps a week or so ago. As Audrey say he "waddles like a penguin" when he takes steps, it is hilarious. He is getting braver and has stood up on his own in the middle of the floor a couple of times so I think he is close. But who knows, I've thought that for 2 months, ha... He was finally baptised this past month (yes, I am way behind on posts) which was great. He has now been wiped of all his sins and can start anew. And they are coming I can tell. I have called him a bugger more times then I can count lately. He is so sweet and mild tempered, but he is very mischievous and loves to get into things he shouldn't. Then he just looks back with a smile, like I know I'm so not supposed to be doing this but maybe she will let me... I'm in trouble... At least he likes to cuddle, that makes up for it for now... So here we go, the home stretch of his first year...

easter weekend...

Well, I am little behind on my blog postings as you may have noticed. Things have been a little crazy lately and unfortunately I haven't had the time... We took a ton of pictures this past weekend so I thought I would try and get a quick post in. We had a fabulous weekend, the weather was unbelievable (high 70's - low 80's both days!) and we took full advantage of it. Audrey was very excited about Easter this year, as she has been with all the holidays. She is finally "getting" the holiday thing, that Santa is coming, that the Easter bunny is coming, etc. Holidays mean candy generally too which doesn't hurt... She had multiple Easter egg hunts between day care Friday, a neighborhood one Saturday and one at our house Sunday, and is now quite the pro. She makes sure to shake the eggs 1st, and will not pick them up if they don't shake. Smart girl right?? Smart mom put Kix in her Easter morning eggs, I learned my leason on that one last year when she ate all the chocolate before 7 am... Chase enjoyed his first Easter. He really just liked being outside all weekend, he loves it out there... Now if only weather would stay this nice... I know better then to think that is true but we will take it while we have.
